Spring trip to Glacier National Park

Photo tour: Moon over St Mary Lake in Glacier National Park

by Robin on June 10, 2009

Glacier National Park in Montana is a southern extension of Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta. Together it is known as Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. During a June visit you may still encounter snow, but the park is already warming up to photographers who can find something to shoot in any season. Above picture was taken at St Mary Lake just after sunset. [24mm, 2s, F18]

Photo tour: Reflection of Mount Sinopah in Two Medicine Lake
Reflections are one of my favourite subjects in landscape photography. Unfortunately the wind sometime wreaks havoc with the perfect reflection. This is a meagre reflection of Mount Sinopah in Two Medicine Lake. [24mm, 1/400s, F10]

Photo expedition: The heart of Glacier National Park
This photo was taken near Many Glacier trying to capture the heart of the park. I find that the the dead tree symbolizes life and death in the park. [14mm, 1/25s, F18]

Photo tour: Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park
After a late spring winter storm, you can find a nice contrast between fresh green and freshly fallen snow. [24mm, 1/200s, F16]

Photo expedition: Late spring landscape with crosses in Glacier National Park
These two crosses compliment the rugged landscape with Lower Two Medicine Lake in the background. [17mm, 1/160s, F18]
